In August 1978 Ed Nix joined ServiceMaster Corporation as a Housekeeping Manager in the Healthcare Services Division. He managed 13 employees in the housekeeping and laundry department of the Northwest Home for the Aged in Chicago, Illinois. He met Nicki, a Certified Nurse Aide while there, and made her his wife 4 years later. From 1978 to 1989, Ed received several promotions and new assignment with ServiceMaster.
