Take a Breather

“You were not taught how to think you were taught what to think.” What do you think of that statement?

If you are like me, you identify with that statement and then forget about it. I was enraptured recently when hearing this statement again for the first time. It had a powerful impact on me because I was ready to truly hear it.

Our subconscious thought is the most powerful of thought as it effects action. Since it is thought from the subconscious often, we don’t even realize the effect it has on our actions. You’ve experienced the power of the subconscious thought

when you choose not to make that dreaded phone call, make the job move or ask that person out on a date for example. You tell yourself messages like “I cannot do that” or “I am not good enough” and then you don’t do what you really want to do and remain in a state of comfort. I don’t want to remain in a state of comfort my whole life. Challenges lead to growth comfort leads to homeostasis. I know for growth and happiness I must accept the challenges life gives me but my subconscious thought holds power over me.

Take action:
1. Become aware of your subconscious thoughts, question them.
2. Replace them with new thoughts
3. Take little steps of action in order to change your subconscious thoughts.

Once you take these action steps over and over again, you will permanently change your subconscious thought. Enlist the help of a friend, mentor, coach or counselor if you don’t feel you can do it alone. Go after that growth! Experience happiness in creating and doing that which you desire!
